Subject: Power supply issues affecting Brultech devices purchased before May 2015.
Devices affected: GreenEye Monitor (GEM), DashBox, EtherPort, EtherBee
Symptom: Device operation stops unexpectedly or device operates erratically. Memory corruption on the GEM.
Cause: Partial failure of 5VDC Power Supply
Diagnosis: Power supply is labelled as “AC Adaptor” instead of “Power Adapter”. An oscilloscope needs to be used to view the excessive ripple under load.
Solution: Replace with 5VDC 1.5+A power adapter (2.1mm X 5.5mm barrel plug, center positive) locally or order one from Brultech.
