I looked through a couple of threads and it seems Err1 mean battery needs to be replaced.
Is that right? What sort is it?
Does "Sys Status: Err1" mean i have to replace the battery?

Off memory the older units use a 3 VDC Lithium coin battery. Just pull it out and measure to see if it's above 3 VDC.
If not replace it - If the battery measured fine all you need to do is reboot the GEM and once it sees the battery that error code will go away.
Clear as mud?

If it's an older GEM, there's a good chance that the battery was killed at some point during firmware updates.scyto wrote:Actually super clear, off to get my multi meter!Teken wrote: Clear as mud?

It's important to make sure your Hardware Option setting in the GEM Network Utility is set correctly also to limit the drain on the battery.
