Cant connect to my GEM
Hi , Just got my Dashbox and trying to access GEM.
earlier with the old GEM Util Network
i was able to.
but after trying to configure GEM to send data to DB and cant get access anymore.
PING is ok but with new GEM util Ver 7.0
i have still have to check mark USe Direc Ip search and it get back to me with Could not connect to 192.168.1.112 port 1461
What is the next step.
Also is someone could post a screen shot on how to setup in GEM it would be appreciated.
In the Dashbox in Energy Monitor Option i dont have Add a monitor Only Remove a Monitor
What is the Issue. Should i ask in the Dashbox support for this question.
Regards

Re: Cant connect to my GEM
There's no more Add A Monitor as it'll detect it once the first packet comes in.
Do you have the Ethernet module set to Mixed mode? Try setting it to Server mode then connecting to it. If that works, then your connection is being held by the DashBox (which means you should just have to lower the idle time, try 2 seconds).
-The GEM has to be configured for HTTP Get under Packet Send.
-Standalone Dashboard/DashBox under Data Post.
In the GEM Network Utility,
-Server IP to DashBox IP
-Remote Port to 80.
-Preferably Mixed mode, but you can use Client temporarily for testing.

Can you check your router to make sure it's still being assigned an IP address? Also, check the status LEDs and Ethernet jack lights on the GEM.daudet wrote:Well Ben i canot even talk to Gem ethernet module i get a popup with

Also check the power supply versus the notice here: http://brultech.com/contact

Ethernet LED are of and respond to the steady Ping.
Effectively the PS is the OLD 1500ma type and i just used the DB PS which is the new model and will see if it works.
Ok when it got back up the ip did change from .112 to .118
i can ping no problem but still cant connect
Look at the Device Discovery, it did discover it. Double clic on it get me to the web browser but it time out and nothing. also on device discovery i have the wrong PC IP. 192.168.56.1 Dont know where the hell it is coming from..
Also the err_connect mean that it is not in server mode but without access to Net Util i cant change it.
Then running GEM Network Utility i have to check Use Direct IP seard and i get the popup that port 1461 is not .

Re: Cant connect to my GEM
Finally got it.
I ran Net Util from my Toughbook and on first scan it found the GEM
i put the DB IP in and save and when back to DB and used a temporary DLINK 5vdc 2amp PS to power it up as the original was put on the GEM earlier.
then when i logged it the DB i got the GEM that was waiting for me.. but still can't get on GEM with WEB browser. but at least the data is coming in the DB.
