Correct config for Solar on ECM1240/Dashbox
Hi Folks!
Is this the correct configuration in Dashbox for a simple solar setup off a ECM1240?
CH1 is the Main
CH2 is my solar
The aux channels are just smaller circuits
Thanks!
Matt

If you're panel-tied with your solar also set your Mains to NET. If grid-tied you're good to go. (If grid-tied you may or may not want Solar Gen as "Main" also).

My solar feeds into a 60amp circuit in my panel - that is what I am monitoring on Channel 2.
Excess power goes out to the grid.
I think that means I am grid-tied - can you explain in what situations I would want my solar gen as "main"?

Sounds like the excess would leave your panel thru your main breaker. I would set your Mains to NET also.mathewbeall wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 9:41 amMy solar feeds into a 60amp circuit in my panel - that is what I am monitoring on Channel 2.

ok Thanks - this is how it is set up now. For the "Gen" that are added below - can you tell me what those represent? Should I hide the Solar or Main channel above?

Hide them both and set Main Gen to Main.mathewbeall wrote: ↑Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:28 amok Thanks - this is how it is set up now. For the "Gen" that are added below - can you tell me what those represent? Should I hide the Solar or Main channel above?

The Gen channels show Net metered data (use - generation).

Thanks! This is how I have it setup now. Just to validate - both Main and Main Gen should be set to "Main"?
