We've recently switched from Transcend 16GB cards to Samsung Pro 16GB cards as we've had a couple corrupt Transcend card. DashBox firmware has also been improved to stop all unnecessary writes to the flash, a lot of the packet processing now resides in memory instead.

- Samsung Pro (not sure about Pro+)
- Transcend High Endurance
- Transcend Ultimate
- Kingston Industrial
- Panasonic (looks like all their cards use MLC according to their website)

I'd look for cards rated for dashcams, go-pros, etc. Usually they use better quality flash as they're expected to be written/deleted from a lot.

Hello,

That is exactly the Micro SD card I use and have in both of the Dash Box's. How much is the American vendor asking for this memory card along with shipping? Keeping in mind the current exchange rate is quite high.

If you need 64-128 Micro SD cards at a reasonable price I may be able to get them locally cheaper even when you factor in local PST, GST, shipping. However the cards are SandDisk Pro's I believe which are also excellent quality. I don't know what the warranty period is though for these cards.

Let me know . . .

If it's just one GEM, you can likely get by with a 64GB card. That being said, I think Teken has the 2nd longest running DashBox and he's been using that card. If you do consider a 64GB, consider using a mid-tier line (EVO being their low-end card, Pro is mid-tier).

We have a 32GB card in our earliest test box, it's had ECM-1240s and other devices hooked up to it periodically. Minute data dates back to October 2013, and we have 14.5GB remaining.

Amazon has it for around the same price if you do go with that card.

You'll likely get it a lot faster from them, and their return/refund policy is awesome.

The only thing to be mindful is who is the seller and if they are indeed selling a genuine product. I picked up all the cards I have and more from Best Buy. Didn't have to worry about knock offs or return issues because it was all local.

If you're feeling spendy maybe go for the 200 GB! Not sure if the DB supports such a large capacity, Ben?

Had a chance to stop by the store where I saw the 128 GB SanDisk Ultra's going for $43.39 until December 31, 2016. With local taxes $49.03 before shipping so based on what Ben noted in his link there is probably more value going with Amazon.ca.

But that assumes you decide to purchase the exact Samsung memory as I did. The SanDisk Ultra based on random reviews has very high ratings too. They also have 64 GB selling for $22.89 before tax on sale till December 31, 2016.

Merry X-MAS!
