Does anyone have any experience with the Xbee (Zigbee) radio signal penetrating a residential brick wall? I am planning an installation where the service panel and dual ECM-1240 with the Xbee radio option are 30 feet away from the EB-1 EtherBee Gateway, but on the other side of an exterior brick wall.
Do you believe the signal will be strong enough? Will the internal antenna on the ECM-1240 and gateway be enough, or would I be better served by adding the external antenna on the gateway, or gateway and ECM modules?
Would WiFi (802.11a/b/g/n) be better? WiFi is supposed to use more power, however I prefer not to use it for security reasons.

It's hard to say, we can't guarantee anything.
Is the brick wall the main reason you're going wireless? If so, it's possible to run a longer network cable to get the EtherBee closer to the wall.
