Basic Operation Question
Dumb question. I am trying to get a handle on how this system works. Once the unit is installed and it is receiving data from the CT's is the data stored in memory? Do I need a wireless network and computer on 24/7 to capture the data or can I just connect to it from time to time and download a week/month/year of data to analyze? Thanks.

Re: Basic Operation Question
the ecm-1240 does not save any data - you must run another computer to collect data. we run ecmread on a low power plug computer to collect data (typical power draw is about 2W). to display the data we use nagios on an old mac mini running debian (draws about 12W), and we are experimenting with emon cms from openenergymonitor.org.
