Channels reading power when there is none

Post by david81 » Thu Sep 21, 2023 7:52 am

So, I hooked up a new CT to my GEM the other day for an in-progress solar install. The CT is a donut 80 and is on a single leg of the feed coming from an Enphase IQ Combiner 4 box to a supply side tap of our feed from the grid. Since hooking it up, I'm seeing some power flowing when there shouldn't be (the system is not powered on and is completely disconnected at this point). See the screen capture from the Dashbox below. It's not a large amount, but it makes me think something is either misconfigured on the GEM or something is funky with the hardware. The CT is setup with Type = 210, Range = 4, Multiply by 2 = Yes/1/True. I know it's small, but I'd expect there to be 0 power detected since that line is dead currently.

Make sure the CTs aren't being run parallel with any power lines or the CT lines will pick up some noise.

You can try adding a jumper between the bottom 2 ports of the channel to add some resistance to the channel.
