As I remove the last few X10 modules, is there a reason for me to leave the X10 signal bridge connected? Does the Insteon need it?

Hello Don,

What is the model number of this X-10 signal bridge? If this is a passive 120 / 240 coupler you install at the breaker? If so you can leave it in place as the X-10 signal was tuned very closely to the Insteon power line frequency and will help bridge the two sides of the split single phase electrical system.

Insteon does this now via RF bridging / coupling but having a hard wired solution in place is a great extra measure of fail over. This is a similar one lots of people use as a hardwired solution which is purpose built to relay Insteon signals.

Thanks

I just happened to look down at it and the bridge has Insteon's name on it. Well, I guess it stays.
