No Success, following is what I did.
Rebooted my PC > Opened MS Edge (normally I use Chrome and had never access the DB using Edge) > Access the DB > Tried to apply the firmware update, it stated "Uploading update and the cursor is spinning.

I waited about 20 min > rebooted the DB > again attempted to upgrade the firmware > same results as before. It has now been about 15 minutes with this attempt.

FYI over the past couple of weeks I've attempted to contact Ben at Brultech and so far no replies from him.

In the lower left I see Version 4.2.2e16b
Per the download page v4_2_3c5a is the current release. This is what I downloaded (dashbox_v4_2_3c5a.img) and have been using.

I'm making "some" progress but it is super painful.

Using the GEM Network Utility I was finally able to update the firmware of one of my GEMs (I have two), following is what I see in the setup. The URL is URL: http://192.168.0.89:8000/ and this is in my home office and is connected to the DB via Ethernet cable.

Serial#: 01100087
COM firmware ver: 4.32
ENG firmware ver: 1.49
RealTime Status: ON
Packet Send Interval: 8
Pri. Packet Format: 3
Sec. Packet Format: 0
Sys Status: OK

I have NOT been able to update the firmware of the 2nd GEM and tonight I'm not able to log into it. The URL is http://192.168.0.99:8001/ and is connected to the GEM via WIFI. Previously I was able to log into it. Via the GEM Network Utility I was able to reboot the COM but still I cannot log into the URL and when I try to update the firmware via the Network Utility I get msg "No response from the GEM.... Now exiting"

When I open the DB in the browser I can connect to the 2nd GEM via the DB and I'm able to reboot the DB but still I cannot update the firmware in the DB, same issue as before.

I just checked the BAUD rate in the DB and it states "No device detected. Check the connection to your energy monitor." for COM 1 & 2, is this correct?

I'm going to quit for tonight and get some sleep.

I believe the team was hit with the flu bug and has been out of the office for several days. Someone will circle back with you once they return to the office.

Just as a point of reference as I don't recall if this is listed out in any of the user manuals. The only time the the *Change Baudrate* tab indicates a connection is if the two systems are connected via RS-232 Serial connection as seen in this image capture.

If you go to Settings->Energy Monitors the top section indicates *Detected Energy Monitors* if connected properly you will see the serial number, last packet received, active status (green), and communications etc.

If schedules align this evening perhaps I can offer you some remote assistance in validating the basics are in place etc. You may PM directly if this is something you wish to do while you await the Brultech teams return.

I just PMed you with my contact info. Give me a call on my cell and we can setup a time. I will be leaving about 1420 hours (AZ time) and will be out about 4-5 hours.

Looking at the channels view in the DB the GEM in my office seems to be dead (all of the indicator lights for the GEM-Office are gray and the GEM-Garage most are green, two are gray) whereas a few days ago I could log into the GEM-Office, now the connection is refused. In the browser I see "This site can’t be reached 192.168.0.99 refused to connect" for the URL I use http://192.168.0.99:8001/ which worked a few days ago.

I can log into the GEM-Garage.

I just unplugged all the power to the GEM-Office, let it set for about 30 seconds, plugged it back in, the lights came on, one is green (left) and the other (right) looks more yellow. Still the DB channel view shows gray for all the indicators.

I'll be leaving in about 1 hour, it is now 1315 hours, the system will be up.
