DashBox Utility V1.1

Post by ben » Tue Dec 06, 2016 1:59 pm

We've uploaded a new version of our DashBox Utility program (formally labelled as Restore).

http://brultech.com/software/files/down ... reV1_1.zip

This program will create 2 pages on your DashBox. One called emerg.php and the other called sd.php.

Emerg.php

Emerg.php (located at http://dashbox/system/emerg.php) is used in case anything goes wrong during a firmware update. It can be used to process updates regardless of the state of the Dashboard.

Emerg.php requires your admin credentials that you login to the DashBox with.

Use the sd.php file from the latest firmware instead

Ben,

Tried this new program moments ago and there were errors and quickly found out the http:// needed to be added at the beginning of the IP address. Once that was resolved pressing the *Update Loader* simply displayed the IP address I entered in the field box.

Going to the path you indicated doesn't resolve?

Perhaps I missed a step here so any clarification on what the path is supposed to be would be great. As entering the IP address before the path you provided brings you to a page with a message *File not found*.

This was done on the black dash box for testing purposes.

HTTP shouldn't be needed, just the IP address.

Were you running it on your local network or over the internet via your ddns? It can only be run on your local network.

Yes, it was running on my local network and it does need the HTTP prefix otherwise it just cried and said it didn't work.

If I don't enter HTTP:// this is what the program says. I removed the last two octal's prior to loading up this image capture. The second image is when I placed HTTP:// in front of the IP.

That error message looks like somethings stopping the upload prematurely (firewall, etc). Can you temporarily pause any anti-virus you're running to see if it still errors out?

There is no firewall or anti-virus running on this specific terminal. I also tried entering the port number in case its because that device was port forward for remote access. But, sadly it made no difference and spit out another random error when I did.

I didn't try this on (old silver) because I wanted to make sure the application worked before doing so.

Let me know any next steps and I will give it a go!

I wanted to update this thread and say using another computer terminal resulted in the same problems / issues. Not sure of the next steps to use so let me know and I will try.

Both computers are X86, Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit - Is it possible you made this (Application) for only a 64 bit operating system? I also ran this Java application as an Administrator still no joy in making it work.

Let me know . . . :?
