GEM quit sending data to DashBoard intermitently

Post by daudet » Thu Dec 31, 2015 9:13 am

Hi everyone.
Since Smartenergygroups are charging a fee, i have moved my data to Dashboard that is setup on one of my web server. api.va2dg.ca
Then i did setup upload to SmartEnergygroups every 60 seconds to cut the cost down 16$/Month .

So far so good

But starting dec 24th i am getting email from Smartenergygroup that the feed is down then another one the feed is UP.

Here is the chrono.
Dec 24th Down at 6h53 up at 7h34
Dec 27th Down at 6h52 up at 7h38
Dec 28th Down at 7h53 up at 8h01
Dec 31st Down at 6h54 up at 7h39

So this morning i try to ping the GEM and it was responting
then try to http:/192.168.1.120 and it time out all the time
I got it once and i saw the raw packet but dont remember the frequency.

I never got to the GreenEye monitor web page like i use to.

I have unplug both power adaptors and still the same.

Anyone ever had this problem.

I did not had any network outage.

What COM F/W are you running on the GEM and what communication module are you using?

oh boy that is way behind i guess.
Ethernet module only and FW is about year and half if not 2 years old.
Never had problem before the date shown in my post.
lucky
just try the web and got in. Com Fw is 4.0. Eng is 1.49
maybe its because we are in 2016 now....

Happy New Year Ben and all other folks on the forum

well it strick again my Dashboard show that it quit receiving data at 6h30 this morning.
just try to access GEM at local IP and it time out
So GEM is having issue!!
Will set up a network sniffer on GEM port and try see what is going on.

Update at 21:44
Here is a screen shot of my Dashboard for main today
it did went down to zero at 6:30 and 2 more time later around 8:30
just try again with the web and got connected to GEM right away.

This morning I try to connect with GEM network utility and it did not respond
weird....

We still load 4.0 COM and 1.49 ENG by default, you're OK there.

Do you happen to have COM1 Auto Reset enabled?

Are you using Mixed Mode? Try Client mode for a bit to see if that stops the dropouts. Mixed mode says if there's no data in X seconds, disconnect from whatever you're connected to. Client mode will force a persistent connection.

If you need to configure the GEM, you'll have to switch it back to server mode.
