I have wondered if there was a difference in accuracy for the CT40 vs. the CT80 on a lower amperage circuit, even down to 15 amps. If for some reason a CT80 was used there on a 15 amp circuit, is it then less accurate than a CT40 used there?
The specs give the 3% accuracy, but don't really say for what range of current.
This is more a theoretical question than a need to know question.
Also, without cluttering up the topics, I was wondering approximately how much accuracy would be lost just using 1 CT on a 240V circuit and doubling the amount, instead of the two CTs as is proper. Have people seen an imbalance between the two separate legs?
Thanks for the help.

There's an accuracy chart for each CT here under specs:sub3marathonman wrote:I have wondered if there was a difference in accuracy for the CT40 vs. the CT80 on a lower amperage circuit, even down to 15 amps. 1A or less, or the upper scale of each CT is when things tend to get inaccurate.
If it's a balanced load, there shouldn't be any accuracy loss. If it's something like a dryer, etc. you need to use 2 CTs.sub3marathonman wrote:Also, without cluttering up the topics, I was wondering approximately how much accuracy would be lost just using 1 CT on a 240V circuit and doubling the amount, instead of the two CTs as is proper. That's exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why I didn't see it myself.ben wrote:
