Worth the protection, Yes.
Worth the loss of 60 seconds of data, No.

I'm not sure of the OP's situation, but mine does not lend to an easy install of a UPS due to the location of the panel, GEM, and DB. Do you know of an extremely small wall mountable UPS.

Hello Greg,

How small does it have to be? Let me see what I can find that might meet your needs.

Around the size of the GEM would work.

Thanks! :-)

I actually used a Functional Devices model PSH2C2RB10 unit, which you can install a UPS in it. This setup allows you to run separate outlets to different devices that you want on a couple of UPS protected circuits. This does require some wiring / rewiring. In my case everything is located in the basement so I just ran some additional outlets to a couple of different places. I have my GEM, Dashbox, ISY-99i and my internet router on it along with a couple of other small things. Functional Devices has a couple of different models and configurations. I have also included a PDF which shows how it get wired up,

Ooh, I like that box. I have power supplies to hide for the GEM, the Dashbox, a POE switch, and a DSC alarm system I have put in.

Do you have a recommended place on the web where I can go see a variety of these boxes, look at their depths etc?
