Split30 CT - Type A or Type B?

Post by ltbarkley » Tue Jun 14, 2022 12:56 pm

The documentation seems to conflict itself:

From https://www.brultech.com/store/index.ph ... tachment=7
Page 13 states "The following CT models are “Type A”: SPLIT-30, SPLIT-60, SPLIT-100, SPLIT-200, SPLIT-400/600, SPLIT-170"

However, the very next page, page 14, states:
"The SPLIT-30 is a “Type B” CT and the connection method for Type B
described above applies.
The only difference is the addition of a capacitor inserted in terminals 1
and 4."

I installed the system like stated on page14, using the capacitor. Is this correct? I seem to be getting accurate results on the individual circuits, but want to be sure.

Thanks!

Page 14 is correct. You'd get crazy values on the other ports due to them having no burden resistor.

Thank you for the clarification Ben! Setup has been a breeze for the most part. If you can change the docs you may want to update that section.

Yeah I'll let Paul know about that.
