New GEM setup not sending data
I've searched here and on Google, and tried many of the suggestions, with no luck so far. Tried powering down and up without the battery, twice. Read the manuals twice to verify the setup, it looks good to me, but i'm not getting data from the Greeneye Monitor.
This is a new setup of a GEM with the ethernet connection module. I'm trying to use btmon on Ubuntu 20.04 to receive the data. Turned off the server firewall, for a couple hours, and still no luck. Wireshark has shown no UDP or TCP data is being sent from the GEM across my lan.
Communication through GEM Network Utility, and through http setup pages are working correctly. Enter Setup Mode, change values, save them and Exit Setup Mode appears to work without incident. Both the GEM Network Utility and http setup live data pages show live data returning every couple seconds.
Current Status

Packet Setup

Data Post

Advanced Settings

To test btmon, a packet sent through my browser successfully inserted into the database. When errors are entered into the packet, btmon writes the packet to a pages\rawdata file.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanx
Paul

Hey Paul,
Your images didn't come thru, can you attach them? (Below the Submit button in the menu options there you should be able to attach them).
In the GEM Network Utility, did you set your Server IP/Port to whatever is running btmon? That may be the missing step. That tells the GEM what to connect to.

Yes, Ben, guess i was tired and didn't see that
Current Status Packet Setup Data Post Advanced Settings > In the GEM Network Utility, did you set your Server IP/Port to whatever is running btmon?
Originaly i did setup the Eternet Only tab on the GEM Network Utility, but currently i can't get it to work. It's blank, and greyed out. The Get GEM Info button appears to be working correctly. Also i can connect and retrieve live data.
Thanx

Oh, thank you Ben, thank you very much, It's working, I'm getting the data.
All you had to do was point me in the correct direction. Once i got the GEM Network Utility, Ethernet Only tab working, the rest of the pieces fell into place.
Now i can start tuning it to show me the correct values.
Thanx

Did it ship with COM1 Flow Control enabled? Turn that off. Flow Control isn't used.PaulNeal134 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 12, 2022 2:03 amOh, thank you Ben, thank you very much, It's working, I'm getting the data.
