Good Amps, Bad Watts

Post by comet48 » Tue Dec 07, 2021 5:18 pm

Moved a GEM to a subpanel. The AMP readings age good - measured them - but the Watt data is crazy. Way high. The data is consistant - Channels 1 and 2 are CT-200's connected to top of subpanel - installed them on different channels so I can see what is going on. They should show the total consumption at the subpanel. Channel 5 connected to a refrigerator. Turning off the breaker drops consumption from the Power Grid about 140 watts, consistent with Amperage. But the GEM is showing 618 watts - about 5 times the real consumption. CT setup and real time output attached.
Any ideas?

As you can see, voltage is zero. Can I set it manually, and will that help? I have multiple HHA120500's, and they make no difference.

How old is this unit? Your PT range somehow got set super high. If it's old, make sure you don't have one of the bad supplies noted at https://www.brultech.com/contact.

PT range will half the value every increment. Drop it to 4.

You can grab the proper PT Type/Range here:
