GEM PT measurement
About every 2 weeks, my Gem reports my AC voltage is around 240V until I unplug it and replug
I have cleaned the contacts, no joy
Any ideas out there ??

Re: GEM PT measurement
So it's basically doubling the voltage? Does it happen gradually or does it go straight to 240V? Do your other readings jump to double the value?
This probably isn't the issue but make sure the PT plug is plugged all the way in, you can cause a short if the plug isn't snapped in all the way.
Can you try going into Channel Option and re-saving the PT settings? The only other way I can see this happening is if for some reason it's pulling the wrong PT Range from memory.
EDIT: What COM F/W is the GEM running?

Periodically the voltage the GEM sees just goes up to ~220V unplugging PT from wall and re-plugging doesn't change it. replugging PT from GEM brings it back to normal See attached
...Barry Oh and yes All channels essentially double

Let me know the COM version, it does sound like your PT Range is getting messed up.

Try bumping the COM firmware to the 5.XX series, you can download it below:

Re: GEM PT measurement
Just to update
I upgraded the com firmware no change
The next time i went X2 i just move the PT cable near the GEM and it corrected
Maybe the bend of the cable ?? It has been accurate for 3 days now

Re: GEM PT measurement
Barry,
For good measure I would clean the male pin connector with alcohol. Then using a thin Q-Tip gently wipe inside of the female barrel jack.
A quick shot of canned air to insure no fibres are left behind. If you wiggle the radio jack and observe the spike it’s more than likely the port. If you bend any length of cable while the jack is firmly in place that points to a break in the cable.
