Re: GEM fatal error
I've tried the power cycle a countless number of times. Easily more than 20. I am unable to get to that 8001 webpage. I'm cutting the power to the GEM power adapter. I bring the power back. I try to access that webpage from my browser. I hit refresh numerous times. The page never seems to load. I've also tried doing a reboot from the dashbox menu (which is what worked yesterday) to get into the settings. That also does not work today.
Is there any other way to get those settings?
If not, what else can I do?

What F/W is the DashBox running (it's in the middle of the footer)?agr077 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 11:58 amI've tried the power cycle a countless number of times. Easily more than 20. The unknown device on the baud rates side means the DashBox can see something but can't read the packets coming in.
Lets verify the STS cable. First make sure none of the cables are loose on the GEM-side (I think you've checked this once already).
- Remove the 3 leads from the GEM and twist the Tx/Rx lines together.
- Open the GEM Network Utility and connect to 8001.
- Go to the Debug tab.
- On the left box there's textboxes, enter anything in them and hit the button next to it.
- Whatever you typed should echo back.

Re: GEM fatal error
Dashbox is running 4.2.4a19
I removed the three leads (black, red, white). I twisted the red and white (Tx/Rx) together. I went to the debug tab and put some characters into the text boxes. They repeated back. When I tried the same thing before removing the leads, they repeated back as well.

When you try to load the page, close the tab and try a new tab. If Edge receives anything it sometimes gets stuck in an endless waiting cycle when refreshing. I'm wondering if a hardware option got set somehow, the GEM should be set to No Hardware Option.agr077 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 7:15 pmDashbox is running 4.2.4a19

Just in case somethings going on at the DashBox end, I'll email you the new beta DashBox firmware you can try to see if that improves the issue at all.

Re: GEM fatal error
My GEM no longer seems to be sending data to my dashbox.
I can't access the web interface of the GEM directly or through the dashbox.
The GEM network utility is not able to access the GEM serial number.
Any ideas what I can try?

Re: GEM fatal error
Is the DashBox on the latest F/W? There was an error within the b-series where the baud rate would get toggled low then error out when doing an RF module check.
You can check for this under Settings->System->Change Baudrates.

Dashbox is on firmware 4.2.4c11
Baudrates look to be the same as always.

Re: GEM fatal error
Unknown Device means that the DashBox can't interpret the data coming in, either a baudrate mismatch or an issue with the STS cable. My guess is the baud on the GEM got pushed to 115200 somehow, try toggling to 115200 on RS232 #2.
If that works, check the GEMs Adv page to see if it's 115200 there also.

Re: GEM fatal error
I've changed the baudrate to 115200. Now it is not detecting anything.

Re: GEM fatal error
Sounds like it's a cable issue or the GEM isn't sending packets.
What's the Sys LED on the GEM doing currently?
