GEM not visible on my network

Post by llamad911 » Mon Apr 01, 2019 10:30 am

Hello,
I did all the connexions on my GEM and the Ethernet light is on.
Unfortunately, I can't see the device on my router even if it is well connected.

Did I miss something?
Do I have a config to do on my router to be able to see the device?

Regards,
Luc

Luc,

Is this a DashBox-connected, WiFi/Ethernet, or Ethernet-only GEM?

Can you download our GEM Network Utility (http://www.brultech.com/software under the GEM section)?

Right-click the shortcut and go to "Run as Administrator", go to the Network tab, and try a scan there (or if a DashBox, use the UDP scan).

Hello,
it is a Ethernet-only.
I downloaded and installed the GEM Network Utility.
I clicked on "UDP scan" but nothing appends??

I tried to reset the unit on the factory settings using the little button on the back of the unit.

Does it have a factory setting IP address that I can use ?

Thanks for your help.

UDP Search is only for the DashBox. If it's an Ethernet-only GEM, use the Ethernet tab on the GEM Network Utility to search for it.

The default for the Ethernet module is DHCP.

Can you email me your original invoice? (ben(at)brultech.com). If you don't have an invoice, snap a picture of the unit so I can see what we're working with.

EDIT:

- Ethernet-only should be a black board with a red module to its right.
- WiFi/Ethernet will be a blue board, there should be an on-board antenna sticking out the top.
- If you ordered a System package, the Ethernet is on the DashBox, which is a black metallic box.

We tried pulling your order but can't find it so I'm guessing it may be an older unit. In this case, send a picture. I'm curious how old it is as the Ethernet module had a few different connection types.
