GEM not recording Kwh's

Post by pstephens40 » Sat May 07, 2016 4:11 pm

We have been using the GEM and Dash Box at our home for two months and love it.
This morning at 10am it stopped recording/showing any kwh's or voltage.
We don't know what to do. We unplugged all three plugs for the GEM and Dash Box and when it came back up it still was 0. We don't want to hit the reset button in the GEM unit as we think we will lose all our historical data. These devices have been great for us and we have used the data to fine tune our usage.
Thanks for you help.

Have you looked at the raw data coming from the GEM to the Dashbox ??
<Settings><System><Raw Data> ??
That should show you what's coming into the DB

Have you ran the GEM Network Utility to connect to it ??
The latest version allows you to see the live channel data
Does the GEM have a Green and yellow light and the green one flash occasionally ??

If you could please confirm what the Dash Box firmware is running along with the GEM's COM / Engine.

Please post up all of the settings for the Dash Box (DB) and GEM for review. On the DB the status LED at the top header if you press on it should indicate what the issues are.

Also, you should confirm the power supply for the GEM / DB are operating fine.

A "No Data" message indicates it's not currently receiving packets from the GreenEye Monitor.

Are you able to access the GreenEye Monitor setup page?

Watch the GEMs LEDs (Sys/COM), the Sys LED should flash red with every packet.

We replaced the power source and it seems to be working now. Thanks for all your suggestions.

For the benefit of others could you please indicate which PSU was replaced? Whether it be on the Dash Box, Greey Eye Monitor, or both.

GreenEye Monitor, was one of the older "AC Adaptor" power supplies that we've noted issues with before.
