Problem with kWh stream

Post by Craigw » Fri Mar 06, 2015 1:37 pm

For the last couple days, It appears my GEM is sending exagerated/amplified kWh data. The live power reading looks about right, but energy is waaaaay off. Clues? What may also be of note is twice in the last week the GEM has stopped responding altogether and I've had to powercycle it to get it back online. By stopped responding I mean cannot be pinged via wireless, and cannot be connected to via wireless. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello Craig,

Do you have just the GEM sending to SEG? Or do you also have a Dash Box which is than forwarding the energy readings over to SEG?

Straight to SEG currently, but during the weekend when SEG was having issues I setup a Stand Alone Dashboard server locally hoping to log data there, AND send to SEG, but I wasn't able to get it to send to SEG when SEG came back online (at least it appeared to not be sending, I guess I might have needed for SEG to catch up with the backlog?).

Right now Ben is reviewing the Dash Box's back fill option feature in another related thread here. As for SEG when it came back on line on March 05, 2015 there were already errors present which I noted in the same thread you're on at SEG.

It appears to me when Sam brought the robots back on line some of the data was not processed correctly for those using the GEM / DB combo.

Since Ben has indicated he found a bug in the current back fill program its possible the DB for those using it may have resent our data twice etc.

For you I have never seen any issues with the GEM sending data directly to SEG. If the GEM is unable to broadcast out its energy data you will just have a gap which is reflected at SEG. So for you I would have to assume your errors are from Sam's side and not the GEM.

Because the GEM has no ability to store and then re-broadcast its energy readings.

What COM/ENG are on the GEM? Re-check your PT and CT settings, in the 2.4X maybe 2.5X COM era, there was a freezing problem that could overwrite settings.

The Standalone uses the device serial as the alias for the device. You'll likely need to re-discover if you continue to go that route.
