When I first setup my GEM, I followed the instructions on pages 5 and 6 in the GEM-WE manual to reset the GEM to factory defaults. The LEDs appeared to follow the reset sequence described in the manual. I was able to connect to the GreenEye_XX network, but was not able to connect to the GEM on 192.168.2.2. I retried the reset and connect several times.
This stumped me for a while, then I noticed that the next step in the process was to set 1.2.3.4 as the IP address for AP Mode. On a hunch I tried connecting to that address and got to the network setup page. From there the initial setup went smoothly.
Now, truth be told, I can't recall if I tried connecting with the port numbers, as in 192.168.2.2:80 or 192.168.2.2:8000. I think I did and it didn't work, but I'm not sure. Seems to me that if 1.2.3.4 works it must be the IP for AP Mode, not 192.168.2.2, unless 192.168.2.2 and 1.2.3.4 are both valid after a reset. If that's true, and you have to use the port number with 192.168.2.2, that should be documented explicitly in the manual.
Or is 192.168.2.2 a misprint in the manual and it should say 1.2.3.4?
After reset AP Mode IP is 1.2.3.4 not 192.168.2.2

We need to update that manual to include both IP addresses, it's W/E module firmware dependent.peppersass wrote:When I first setup my GEM, I followed the instructions on pages 5 and 6 in the GEM-WE manual to reset the GEM to factory defaults.
