What's your send interval? Are you sending packets on both COM1 and COM2?

I had spikes on all of my temperature probes too. Every day, they all started reporting back erratic measurements. I determined that it was a noise problem... I was using shielded Cat6 for my 1-wire network, and grounded the shield to a copper water pipe, but was still picking up noise. It turns out that a single toggle switch for a living room light was introducing the noise - whenever that particular light was on, the temperature probes all spiked (and continued spiking randomly) until the switch was turned off. I verified this by sniffing the 1-wire communication with a digital logic analyzer.

I've since changed my ground connection on the shielded ethernet, as well as replaced the wall switch. The spikes have not returned since, and it's been several months. Hope this helps...
