CT Wire Gauge Size

What gauge wire are the CT's? I'm thinking of putting the GEM in my server rack rather than next to the electrical panels, I read a forum post on here saying people have used CAT5 to extend the CT's, I would prefer to use separate wire cables for each CT's to make maintenance or changes easier.

The manual doesn't call out exactly what gauge the CT's are. How ever it does state you should be using CT's with a wire gauge of 18 - 26 AWG.

You can certainly use CAT5e cable or better yet CAT6 as its 22 AWG vs 24 for CAT5e. Keep in mind noise may be introduced when long runs are used. Also, you may see temperatue / power differential(s) due to the long wire length.

The 600V-rated CTs are 22, and the 300V-rated CTs are 24.

Teken / Ben, Thanks for the information, since there might be inaccuracies and temperatue / power differential(s) if I extend the CT using CAT5e or CAT6 I may just leave the GEM and DashBox next to the electrical panel. Thanks

You can certainly run a 15 foot length and see if you see any differences. I ran more than 50 feet for testing using CAT6 cable and didn't see a variance in power or temperature readings. You can also double up the wire pairs to reduce the amount of resistance.
