btcfg and eithernet attached ecm-1240

Post by ncherry » Wed Jul 30, 2014 10:40 pm

I ran into a few problems with using btmon and btcfg with my XPort or EtherBee. I get a lot of expecting fc got 00 when I poll and when using btcfg I get an error about the lack of a sendbyte. Is anyone else using btmon and btcfg with an either device? I've started fixing the problems and just want to know if it's just me.

If it's not just me, who can I share the diffs with when I have it working properly?

Thanks

you can post the diffs here, or send me the diffs and i will incorporate them into btmon and btcfg.

eric sandeen has made many fixes already - i'm hoping to get those merged and published soon ('real' work keeps getting in the way :)

all of the mtools (btmon, edsmon, tedmon, rtmon) are in a subversion repository right now, and i will provide access to that repository after i do some repository cleanup.

my apologies for taking so long to get the merging done.

NP, I'm working on analyzing why I get no errors on the xport attached ECM-1240 and, on the EtherBee attached ECM-1240, I get this:

2014/08/03 12:58:01: Aux5 Watts: 0.000000KWh ( 0W)
2014/08/03 12:58:02 wrong response 0xfe, expected 0xfc // As a guess this routine is having trouble with the start of the next header fe ff 03
2014/08/03 12:58:02 wrong response 0xff, expected 0xfc
2014/08/03 12:58:02 wrong response 0x3, expected 0xfc
2014/08/03 12:58:02 3 requests failed for device fc

I have noticed that the EtherBee sends the data response in 1 IP pkt while the XPort sends it a byte or 2 at a time (using Wireshark). There are other slight differences but I need to do a bit more reading to find out how the btmon server talks to the ethernet devices. I see an FC being sent by the xport btmon but I don't see that with the EtherBee btmon.
